Dr Matthew Blackstone graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery.
Prior to this he completed after undertaking undergraduate training in Medical Science at the University of Sydney.
Following university studies Dr Blackstone worked at Redcliffe Hospital for three years spending time working across a variety of departments including emergency, surgery, medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology.
After moving from the hospital system to general practice Dr Blackstone developed a skeen interest in skin cancer and has undertaken extra training in this field.
Dr Blackstone enjoys all areas of general practice but has specific interests in:
- Preventative Health
- Aiming to keep people healthy and prevent illness before it occurs
- This should be an individualized approach to each patient and their specific risk factors for various illnesses.
- Chronic Disease Management
- Optimising management of existing conditions to allow patient to feel their best whilst monitoring and managing any complications which may arise.
- Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery
